Suggested Programme

1^st DAY

A warm and friendly welcoming from the locals will at first accompany your arrival at the village.Yourhosts will be at your disposal, so as to inform you on the history of the area, as well as to resolve any possible questions or worries. The rest of the day will be free for walks near the beach or through the narrow streets laid with tiles. You may also choose to go for swimming or sunbathing, instead, taking advantage of the bright, Greek sun.

2^nd DAY

On the second day of your arrival, a number of outdoor activities have been scheduled for you. We will be transferred in mountainous sites and wander on uneven, rocky grounds.AccompaniedbyYiannis Baladakis, we will try to follow in his footsteps and take a glimpse of his daily activities. Feeding the goats and sheep, milking the cows and taking care of the numerous beehives are just some of the things you will view. For those interested in gardening and plants generally, there will be a special tour at the various greenhouses and gardens of the village. It is a great opportunity to enrich your present knowledge, as well as come closer to Mother Nature.

3^rd DAY

The third day of your stay, we will drive out of the borders of the village to see some well-known historical places. More specifically, we will visit the ancient towns of Polirinia and of Falassarna. You might have heard some things about these two famous places of Crete, but you will have the chance to learn more about them by our guides. What is more, you will have the opportunity to view one of the best beaches in Europe, as well as enjoy its crystal, spellbinding waters.

4^th DAY

The forth day will be exclusively dedicated to the Cretan diet, which is considered to be the most important component of the Mediterranean diet. You will be surprised by the hospitality of locals who support the unbreakable rule of treating everyone that comes by their house. A variety of traditional pastries and other delicacies are waiting for you, always accompanied by our traditional drink called tsikoudia or raki. You will be able to try a great variety of the finest Cretan wines, while you will also savor our local dishes with products of our own production. For those especially interested in the Cretan cuisine, there will be a cooking demonstration by my mother Eleni- who is willing to reveal some of her greatly prized recipes and secret tips.

5^th DAY

We will follow one of the six paths surrounding the village to reach some wild, worth seeing landscapes, as well as admire the beauties that nature has to offer us. Our small trip around the village will not end at this point, as there is an old cave near the sea waiting to be explored. It is known as the Fairy cave and it counts centuries of existence. There are a number of myths surrounding its history, myths that will arouse your imagination and transfer you to another dimension. Last but not least, you will be thrilled by the dazzling colors that million stalactites and stalagmites create, but beware not to disturb the sleeping bats for they wont forgive you.

6^th DAY

On the last day of your stay we will visit Elafonisi, one of the most exotic resorts of the area. Itatracts hundreds daily visitors because of it astonishing natural beauty. Called the blue laggon of Crete, it has turcuise waters and pink sand.We will also visit the traditional settling of Milia. It is an old, small village of more than 500 years old, that was reconstructed from the beginning and has remained untouched by the course oftime. In Milia you will find no sign of urban life, no cars, no shell phones. It is a memorable place that will travel you many years back in time.
